Okay, I'd like to hear from you folks who read this here blog. According to the count, there are about 300 hits/week on this site so I would like your opinion. No matter where you live or where you go (or don't go) to church, I would like to hear what would be of interest to you if I were to preach a sermon series in your church. I have some thoughts but want to hear from you.
For example - Controversial topics, doctrinal topics, denominational issues, comtemporary issues, themes, a book of the Bible, a book series, etc..
I'll take seriously (series-ly) what you have to say but you need to let me know. i think that the book of job could do some good with all that going on in the church right now or even the ten command ments some people need to hear how they are sopposed to act and conduct them selves.
300 per week?? Wow, you are seriously popular out there in Leoti country!! I'm lucky to get 70-80!!
Several years ago, one of our former pastors (before he had a nervous breakdown) preached a series out of Nehemiah on the rebuilding of gates of Jerusalem. He would spend a Sunday on each gate, and relate it to us today (like the Dung Gate...**** happens, it's how you deal with it that counts, etc). I actually scribbled some notes in my bible on each one, I'd be glad to share them with you sometime (you seem to borrow my material for your sermons from time to time)!! :)

Great question... Here are a few ideas:
* Theological reflections on current media (TV, movies, etc.) I think that this could be done in a way that is not gimmicky and also helps remind everyone of their faith throughout the rest of their life.
* What it means to be a United Methodist would be a good series - I think that it is continually important to remember and live out our heritage.
* Home on the Range - could be a series that addresses rural / farming life and parallels to the Christian life.

I would like to see you take a book of the Bible and maybe continue until you have had a sermon on the new testament and Psalms and Proverbs and maybe some of the other old testament books. I agree maybe the ten commandments. Seems there are some of us that seem to ignore them or think they are for someone else not us. Satan seems to be really working over marriages in our church and community. Lets keep praying for them.
Something out of the book of Hezekiah.

I would love anything from the New testament. I have loved your sermons to date. I took notes on last weeks sermon from Thessalonians. Great stuff. I even called my sis who also enjoyed the scripture passage. I know your heart leads you to preach on the needs of the church and I think you do a great job in reading the church needs and seeing what is going on with the people in it. It seems like you have used the illustration about the drug user that quit using drugs & became a Christian, only to become dissapointed about the fact that we talk about what we are going to do, but don't do it. He wanted to DO something. I think my faith has grown more by the what God has me do than by what I hear. How can you make a sermon out of that, it seems a little redundant, and yet.......I think we as a church are ready to DO some awesome things..Aimee
My devotional the past 3 days has been about forgiveness and has been pretty enlightening. It's from "The Word for You Today". I tried to find it online to forward to you but haven't had any luck so far. I could send you something snail mail if you want. Anyway, I think I sermon series on that would be good, however, you'd have to link the Larned people up by satellite I guess! LAS

Thanks to you all for your input - even to you RK regarding the book of "Hezekiah". I need to spend a little time in prayer to put my thoughts together so we'll see where this all leads. Keep sending your ideas. And LAS, I will attempt to keep the drama to a minimum - hah!
