WHAT SMILE?

By the way, have you noticed the faces of the men who went on the Walk to Emmaus this past weekend? No, they're not up to something, but God sure is. How I wish you all could have been with me to watch what God did in these guys lives this past weekend. It was and is indescribable.
So if you get a chance, ask Mike, Shad, Randy, Todd, or Lee how their weekend went. Don't be in a hurry because they have a lot to say.
Look out ladies, you're next.

Stay tuned!

I don't know if they check out this blog on a regular basis but I sure would like to hear from those guys a little more than they had a chance to say Sunday. I could also stand to hear a little more (a lot more) from that music team. That "God is Good All the Time" could be "felt" all the way up the stairs. I think our kitchen floor rocked.

I would like to know a little more about the 'walk'. If it is such an awe-inspiring event---why is it only available to a select few? I guess I have become a little sceptical of 'secret' faith groups. Am I being overly paranoid?

To anomymous: What's so secret about it? You must be getting some bad information. There are some special fun and inspirational things that happen in the last few hours that are not talked about much. However, you can go on the internet, search the Upper room site for What is Emmaus. You can learn about anything you want to know. You do need a sponsor so if you are interested, talk to someone about it. The next Bread of Life Walk is at Barclay College in Haviland, KS July 13-16 for the men and July 20-23 for the women.

Dear paranoid,

This is by no means a "secret faith" group. I'm not sure if you go to my church or if your just visiting the site but I offered an invitation in our church newsletter to anyone who was interested in going to contact me. I also mentioned it from the pulpit many times as well as in the bulletin. The only "select few" are those who chose to respond to the invitation. All were invited, only a few responded. However, it is very rare that 11 people attend from one church so as far as a "few" are concerned, that is really a large number. As LJS mentioned, all you want to know about Emmaus is on the web or I'd be glad to talk to you. Actually, why not ask those who participated? That would be the greatest answer to your question or questions. P.R.

ljs, I agree completely!! The objective of Emmaus is to inspire, challenge and equip local church members to Christian action in their home, churches and place of work. Emmaus lifts up a way for our grace-filled life to be lived and shared with others.

I think in the past, there seemed to be a "cloak of secrecy" wrapped around Emmaus. Today, however, I think that we are more than happy to share as much of the Walk with others as we possibly can!!
